Vocabulary Words: Camouflage, Design, Harmony, Non-Objective

Materials: 12x18" white paper, oil pastels, magazine "triangles"

I begin this lesson by cutting out non-objective triangle sections from magazines and gluing them on 12 x 18" white paper. I look for interesting colors and shapes while avoiding any identifiable objects in the triangular area. I distribute the prepared paper and explain to the students that their "job" is to camouflage the triangle sections by finishing the design.
