Artist Shoes

With two weeks left of school I needed a quick sculpture lesson that would allow for alot of creativity. My solution? Artist shoes! The requirement was for students to first spend one class period creating a poster that explained who their chosen artist was (I have several artist postcards that I allowed the students to choose from). Students were then asked to create a shoe in the style of that artist. It did not have to be physically wearable, but must retain the essence of a shoe. From there, anything went! The students moaned and groaned at first, but once they got started they really enjoyed this lesson.
