Materials: black tempera, white paper, chalk pastels


We looked at Klee's painting "Park Near Lucerne" and discussed how Klee abstracted the park into simple lines and color. I then distributed a list of planet symbols (do an image search and you can see the examples I used). Students painted these lines onto their papers, including a letter created in this style. After the lines were dry we colored them in chalk pastels.
