Vocabulary Words: Printmaking

Materials: tempera paint, printmaking supplies, white paper

I introduced students to 3 different printmaking techniques for this project. Technique 1 we used our fingerprints to create a pattern. Technique 2 involved creating a pattern with tempera and printing a monoprint. Technique 3 we used styrofoam and drew our picture, then pulled prints using standard techniques. I gave each student a pattern to trace around and they traced on the back of their prints, then cut them out and glued them onto black paper. Colored paper end borders create a nice finish.
