Vocabulary Words: Silhouette, Landscape, wet-on-wet watercolor
Materials: 6x12" white paper, sharpies, watercolors
This project has a
unique challenge of creating a landscape in silhouette on long paper.
My students are uncomfortable with this new size and with leaving out
details, but once they begin the excitement grows. After drawing their
silhouettes they color them with sharpies. Once colored, paint the sky
with water, then apply watercolor using horizontal brush strokes.
