Vocabulary Words: Pattern, negative space, texture, silhouette, stencil

We begin by looking at books for pictures of animals with distinctive patterns. Students then draw their animal aand cut it out, creating a stencil. Hold in place on 12x18" black paper with small tape rolls. Draw the animal's pattern on the black paper and color with colored chalk. Seal with a fixative or hairspray.
