I shared the book "What's the Most Beautiful Thing You Know About
Horses" by Richard VanCamp with my second grade students. We discussed
the abstract colors and fantasy approach to creating the illustrations.
We then drew simplified horses and colored them with oil pastels, using
any color the student wished. We then painted beautiful backgrounds for
our horses. We cut out our horses and attached them to our backgrounds
using 3-Do's to further emphasize the horses being in the foreground.
