Vocabulary Words: Joan Miro, shape, texture, abstract, style, background

Materials: 12"x18" white paper, sharpies, markers, crayons, rubbing plates or surface

We looked at "Dog and Man in Sun" by Joan Miro before starting this project. We then drew creatures with sharpie in Miro's style. Each time we drew a creature we turned the paper so that our figures appeared to float. Add circles, lines, stars, and crescents in the background. Color figures with markers. Using rubbing plates or rough surface rub the background with crayons to create texture. Use two colors for added interest.
