Vocabulary Words: Still Life, Shape, realistic, crayon resist

Materials: 12x18" white paper, crayons, sharpie, watercolors, paintbrushes

Students love to draw "realistically", but often lack the ability to "see". I help them draw flowers in a realistic way, showing them several different flowers. After coloring with crayons, I encourage students to paint the background in bright colors.
