Reindeer Sacks

A tradition I began several years ago as a filler activity the week
before Christmas break is these reindeer sacks. They are good for
following directions and cutting/gluing skills. I have the students
trace their hand on folded paper for the antlers. The poem is attached
to the back, and inside goes 1/4 cup of oatmeal and a dash of glitter.
The poem I use is: On Christmas Eve, sprinkle this Magic Reindeer Food outside of your door.
The magic glitter sparkling in the moonlight and the smell of oats will
guide Rudolf to your home.
Then keep snug in your bed with your eyes closed tight and your slippers
near by on the floor.
Waking early with the next morning light to find gifts of love, under your
tree and in your stocking, to call your own.
