After reading the book "Rainbow Fish" and discussing some of the nicer
qualities of sharing we drew our fish and added a checkerboard pattern
to our fish. We colored them with crayons and then painted the water
with tempera. (Time did not allow for coloring the entire fish, so we
did not do crayon resist). This picture was taken before the final
touches were added. I had some shiney colored purple paper that I
picked up at prom last year. I cut it into 2" squares and taped them
all over my shirt. When the students walked in I talked about how
pretty I felt with my "shiny scales" and how I would feel even better
by sharing. I gave each student one of my "scales". They then cut a
small piece off and glued it onto their fish. They then put their scale
on their own shirt. It was truely a wonderful experience!
