Materials: 12x18" white paper, rubberband paintbrushes, 9x12" paper for stencils, tempera paint

To create a rubberband paintbrush you will need rubberbands of various thickness, round craftsticks, and masking tape.

Cut the rubberbands into 3/4"-1" strips and place onto masking tape. Place close together and make this around 3 1/2" long. Place craftstick on the end nearest the rubberbands and roll tightly to end.

Cut vases out of 9x12" paper. You will need both parts of the stencil. Place the outside part of the stencil on paper and dab yellow and red tempera onto paper. Cover this vase with the inside part of the stencil and place the outside part of the next stencil overlapping this one. Dab paint inside stencil. Create background by placing the inside part of each stencil over the vases and laying a sheet of paper lengthwise over entire paper where the edge of a table should be. I use cool colors to make the background recede.
