Vocabulary Words: Horizon Line, shadows, shapes

Materials: 12x18" paper, sharpies, crayons

We looked at several pictures of penuguins, and then drew the emporer penguin. After we drew our penguins we added our horizon line and some mountains. I showed them pictures of snow scenes so they could observe that snow doesn't always appear white. We added touches of blue for shadows to make our penguin appear to be surrounded by ice and snow.
