Vocabulary Words: Horizon Line, parallel line, shape, pattern, overlap

Materials: 12x18" paper, sharpies, crayons

After drawing our cat, I talk about how to make the cat look like it is sitting on a rug on the floor (overlap). We draw a horizon line behind our cat, then an oval. We make that oval into a rug by drawing a parallel line. We color the rug, then draw pattern on the wall. Depending upon the class, we may draw patterns on our cats.
