Materials: 12x18" white paper, sharpie, crayon, watercolors

We spent our year with a "cowboy" theme, and cattle brands fit right into our theme. After practicing how to draw a cow I explained there are 3 proper areas for a brand to be located. Brands have a maximum of 3 shapes combined, so students used their initials and drew them in every concievable combination to form their own personalized brands. We put these brands on our border, and their favorite brand went on their cow. My students come from a ranching background and many students drew their own pet cow!
